I wonder if and (likely) how they’ll integrate Mii technology into (the inevitable) Pokémon 3DS titles. I mean, thanks to My Pokémon Ranch (which I’m still sour over never receiving a Platinum update in the US), Mii’s have made their way into the PokéVerse before. I’m just curious if everything is going to be linked to this “Nintendo Network” if our Miis will serve as pre-battle character avatars or something like that - might be cool, might be ham fisted.

I can’t wait to see how Game Freak will eventually integrate full 3DS technology into my favorite series… but I should focus on B2&W2 first, no?

Theme song for B2&W2

N will forever now be accompanied by this song (a la YGOTAS’ Duke Devlin)

This screenshot from a (now) month-old video is quite telling, don’t know why I didn’t stop to notice before…
Who’s that Pokémon? - It’s Koffing! Yes, I’ve yet to see a single person list Koffing (and therefore Weezing) among the “confirmed Pokémon” for B2&W2. Sure, we’ve yet to see Koffing’s sprite on an in-battle screen, however, save for Pikachu, Pokémon’s images never appear in titles wherein they cannot be caught. Koffing and Weezing are - in my mind - present in B2&W2’s Unova Dex and are likely battled in the new Poison- type gym.
the Gym Leader stance factor - A few things have been quite consistent about players’ Gym challenges throughout the decade+ lifespan of the series; players are greeted as “Champ(s)-in-the-making,” their names are etched upon statues in front upon their victory, and the Gym leader is (almost always) kind enough to award a Gym badge and a TM on the spot. Likewise, Gym Leaders can always be met at the rear of the gym, facing forward, flanked by elementally themed ornamentation, awaiting the player’s challenge. However, in this video, neither the new Poison- type Gym Leader nor the new Water- type Gym Leader are assuming the traditional Gym Leader’s stance, nor do they appear to be alone at the rear of their facility. The Poison- type leader is on a stage flanked by her bandmates while the Water- type Gym Leader is alone facing to his right. This all suggests that the timeless tropes of a Gym Challenge are being deconstructed in B2&W2, and reassures me that the newly announced Normal- type Gym Leader, Cheren, has not “pulled a Clair” and run away with the Basic Badge that he owes the player, but that he is awarding it to the player in the rear of some outdoor schoolyard because an outdoor schoolyard is the final area within Cheren’s facility. Sound good?

people who are not as good at Pokémon as me, but have other marketable skills that make them valuable to society

I don’t even remember ever writing this, but I was looking at my own blog just now and saw it and laughed out loud. Bravo, past-me, you made future-you proud to be current-us.
